Avi Samudrala is one of the most creative entrepreneurs now working online. Through his website and business, AskSunday.com, Samudrala has been able to build a successful career. This is largely due to his penchant for innovation and thinking outside of the box.
Mr. Samudrala attended Emory University’s prestigious Goizueta Business School. Emory is considered to be one of the Southern Ivy League schools, located in Georgia. Samudrala then worked for a private equity firm called AEA Investors. He was an associate there for over two years. However, in November of 2006 he had a life changing idea. Samudrala’s parents come from India, so he was well-aware of the hard work ethic and incredible talents of workers who receive a shot at outsourced labor. Samudrala had discussions with a number of family and friends about the issues of outsourcing and online work. Avi Samudrala eventually decided that there was no reason why personal assistants could not also be outsourced. Samudrala co-founded AskSunday.com with his friend, Steve Ludmer. They began offering services in July 2007. AskSunday.com experienced rapid success immediately. It appears that helping to connect clients with personal assistantys online for a low monthly fee is a very viable business model. The personal assistants are available twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
